Chelsea spent over £100m to secure the signings of Kai Havertz and Timo Werner from the German Bundesliga.
It was expected that the German duo will bring a spark to the Chelsea team, after their impressive performances in the German league.
Werner started out fine, but a goal drought is beginning to put him under pressure. For Kai Havertz, he has only showed flashes of his talent.
Manchester City star Ilkay Gundogan, who is also a German, has backed the duo to come good, insisting that it’s not always easy to adapt to a new league.
“They have two new German players who have tried to adapt as well as possible,” Gundogan told Sky Sports.
“In general, I think it’s not easy to adapt quickly to the Premier League when you come from a different country and now with the situation going on I think it’s just even harder.
“So I think it’s quite normal that they are struggling a little bit, but they both have incredible talent and I’m sure they will both be able to prove it in this league.”
