Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich sacked Chelsea legend Frank Lampard as Chelsea boss on Monday morning despite the 3-1 FA Cup victory over Championship side Luton Town on Sunday.
Lampard’s sack as Chelsea boss came as a surprise to most fans as it was believed the decision on his future will be made after games against Wolves and Burnley in the Premier League.
A new report has now revealed the exact moment Abramovich decided he will sack Lampard.
According to The Athletic, Abramovich made the decision to sack Lampard after the 2-0 defeat to Leicester City at the King Power stadium on Tuesday.
The Foxes dominated the contest and saw off Lampard’s side pretty comfortably at the King Power Stadium.
It is believed Chelsea’s poor performance in the 2-0 defeat to Leicester was the final straw for Chelsea owner Abramovich as the Russian made the decision to sack Lampard afterwards.
