According to reports, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is under “serious threat” of being sacked following the 3-1 defeat to Manchester City on Sunday.
Pep Guardiola’s team raced into a 3-0 lead before half time, with Chelsea only grabbing a consolation in stoppage time through Callum Hudson-Odoi.
The defeat to Manchester City is Chelsea’s fourth Premier League defeat in six games.
According to The Athletic, the Chelsea board have begun to explore alternatives to Lampard if they were to sack the former midfielder.
Lampard’s situation is described as “fluid”, with no timeframe for when he may lose his job.
An improvement in results could mean the 42-year-old could see out the rest of the season.
