Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham doesn’t think he’s in competition with Timo Werner, as he rather wants the German to be successful at the club.
Werner joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig, where he scored 34 goals last season in all competitions. The goals have come hard for him at Chelsea, with only 9 so far for the Blues and he missed a penalty against Luton Town that could have taken his tally to double figures.
Lampard paired Tammy Abraham upfront with Timo Werner in the FA Cup tie against Luton Town, and the pair seemed to have a good understanding.
Speaking after the game, Abraham revealed that they don’t see themselves as competitors but they rather try to help each other.
Abraham said: “We drive each other. When one of us scores a goal the others are delighted for him and for me and Timo to be on the pitch together was an honour.
“I encouraged him and he encouraged me and we got through it. It was unlucky for him not to get a goal as well.”
