Chelsea defender Thiago Silva has sent a message to Chelsea fans over the club’s poor form that has left Chelsea boss Frank Lampard fighting for his job.

Tuesday’s 2-0 defeat to Leicester was Chelsea’s fifth defeat in our last eight games.

Chelsea were top of the Premier League at the start of December but now find ourselves five points behind fourth-placed Liverpool – who have a game in hand.

Following the Leicester defeat, Silva posted on Instagram: “Nobody said it was going to be easy. A lot of effort, determination, courage and dedication is required to win.

“That’s why we will not give up. Everything happens for a reason. We need to give our blood and sweat.

“I am convinced we will meet our objectives! Come on Chelsea.”

Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard said after the defeat to Leicester on Tuesday: “There are players who are not playing as well as they should be, that’s a simple fact.

“I’m disappointed with both the goals. We know we can compete with Leicester when we are are playing well but when you go 2-0 down and you are in a difficult period of form it affects the game hugely.

“The players know they were beaten by a better team, a team we are behind and one we want to catch. The general theme of our performance was slow and sluggish.”
