In the course of the past week, Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori made a loan move to join AC Milan until the end of the season, with the Italian club inserting an option to buy clause in his deal.

The 23-year-old was thrown into action few days after making the switch, appearing in the bitter Milan derby, as Inter Milan came from behind to beat AC Milan. The game was heated up and saw former Manchester United teammates Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Romelu Lukaku Square up against each other.

Tomori was a 20th minute sub for Simon Kjaer, and impressed the manger Stefano Pioli who put him straight into the starting eleven for their Saturday’s league game against Bologna, with Milan winning the game 2-1.

Pioli was pleased with how the 23-year-old rose to the occasion against AC Milan and predicted a bright future for Tomori.

“He did well,” Pioli told reporters. “He came in during a difficult match, and he had arrived only a few days before and trained with us only twice.

“I think he showed good things. He can defend very well and he is a smart lad, very focused and eager to learn.

“He arrived in great shape, mentally, physically and technically, and he wants to learn our football as soon as possible.”

Chelsea fans will be hoping that we won’t lose out on Tomori as he has the prospect of being a top centre-back.

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
