Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori left the club on a loan deal to join AC Milan.
The 23-year-old impressed while playing under Frank Lampard for Derby County and also featured for the Blues in the first half of last season. Since then, he has struggled for games.
Tomori started this season as the club’s fifth choice manager, and knew it was time to leave the club during the winter transfer.
Chelsea fans rate the academy product highly, and were not pleased to see him leave the club.
Speaking about that, Lampard said: “I was happy with these shows of affection, I have always given everything on the pitch.
“Now at Milan too I want to do well and make my contribution to Milan’s successes.”
Tomori also revealed the three Chelsea players he spoke to about the Serie A before moving to Milan.
“I spoke with him but also with other players who have played in Italy such as Jorginho, Emerson and Kovacic,” said Tomori.
“Thiago reassured me, he said wonderful things.
“The others also told me positive things about Serie A and Milan.”
