Timo Werner started his Chelsea career with a bang and seemed electrifying in almost every game he played for the club.
However, his goals have since dried up, and the 24-year-old has been making the news for missing big chances.
Werner has managed just one goal in his last 15 appearances for Chelsea, with that goal coming in the FA Cup against League Two side Morecambe.
There have been talks about Lampard’s use of the striker, regarding his position, but former Chelsea defender Robert Huth believes it’s a matter of confidence, as he just can’t score at the moment.
“He started well,” the ex-Blues star told Astro Stadium. “We can talk about whether he should play down the middle or on the wing, but the fact is that he just can’t score at the moment.
“He does get chances. He does get in positions, we have seen it before with strikers, he is in one of those phases where he needs a goal and his confidence builds.”
