According to reports in Germany, Chelsea are among the leading clubs in Europe interested in signing Bayern Munich defender Niklas Sule.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is keen on strengthening Chelsea’s defence this summer after joining the club last month following the sacking of Frank Lampard.

German media outlet Abendzeitung Munchen claim Sule is happy at stay at Bayern Munich despite interest from Chelsea.

The 25-year-old will face added competition next season after Bayern Munich signed RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano in a £38million deal.

Sule is reportedly relishing the challenge of Upamecano’s arrival and wants to prove his value to the side.

Bayern Munich are also not interested in selling the 25 year old defender as Bayern boss Hansi Flick trusts him.

Sule – whose contract at Bayern expires in 2022 – has made 24 appearances across all competitions this season, scoring two goals.
