Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher believes that he is “good enough” to play in the Premier League as he’s now currently impressing on loan for West Bromwich Albion so far this season.
Gallagher is highly rated in the Chelsea camp, and spent last season on loan with Charlton Athletic and Swansea. This season, the club ought he should play in the Premier League, thus a Premier League loan deal with West Brom.
Despite West Brom struggles this season, Gallagher has stood out with his performances, and he believes that he is ready to show his qualities in England’s premier division.
He recently said: “I feel like I have improved a lot. I have shown people I can play at this level and I am good enough.
“I played 47 games in the Championship last season including the play-offs. I was at Charlton in the first half of the season and then Swansea in the second half of the season. They were both great loan spells for me even though they were both short I learnt a lot.
“With both teams I became a better player and better person and I did well, so I was ready to make the step up. Chelsea thought so too – they wanted me to play in the Premier League.
“So when West Brom wanted to sign me and there was a chance, I wasn’t going to turn it down. Ever since a young age, I have loved [football] and dreamed of playing in the Premier League.”
Former Chelsea boss Frank Lampard had an eye on Gallagher, in view of using him in the first team next season. However, the 21-year-old must now prove himself to new boss Thomas Tuchel.
