Former Chelsea boss Frank Lampard remains on the books of Chelsea despite his sack by the Blues last month.
According to The Sun, Chelsea are still paying Lampard his £75,000-a-week wages with an agreement that will continue to be paid until July unless he takes a job elsewhere.
The report claims that’s the major reason Lampard didn’t offer himself for the Bournemouth job as it would immediately mean the money Chelsea continue to pay him would stop, which would cost him just under £2m.
Only an offer which is too good to turn down will tempt Lampard back into management before July.
Lampard is reportedly happy to take a break from the game for a short period following his sacking, having had three highly-pressured seasons since becoming a manager at Derby.
