Chelsea have been linked with Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng for a move during the summer transfer window.

The 32-year-old defender was recently hit with a sad news after the passing away of his ex girlfriend, Kasia Lenhardt.

Jerome Boateng was permitted to leave Bayern Munich’s camp at the Club World Cup in Qatar, Bayern head coach Hansi Flick confirmed.

Flick said on Wednesday: “Jerome came to my room and asked if he could go home. He will not be available to us until further notice.”

Boateng’s girlfriend Kasia Lenhardt was found dead on Tuesday night in her Berlin apartment at the age of 25, on the suspicion of suicide. Kasia just separated with Boateng a week ago before this incident occurred.

Kasia’s final post on Instagram was: “Now is where you draw the line. Enough.”
