Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham was rewarded with a start against Newcastle United following an impressive display in the FA Cup victory over Barnsley.
The England striker had failed to start Chelsea’s last two Premier League games and was definitely keen on showing Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel that he deserves to start regularly for the Blues.
However, Abraham missed the chance to impress Tuchel after going off injured in Chelsea’s clash with Newcastle.
The England striker suffered an ankle injury following a rash challenge from Newcastle United defender Jamaal Lascelles after he was put through on goal.
Abraham was then replaced by Olivier Giroud, who scored Chelsea’s opener as the Blues beat Newcastle United 2-0.
