Mind games are common in football among managers, and Jose Mourinho has been a master of the art for many years. The legendary Sir Alex Ferguson also used this art to his advantage during his managerial career as Manchester United boss.
Meanwhile, Mourinho subtly took a dig at new Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel ahead of Thursday’s derby clash at the Tottenham Stadium.
Speaking in his press conference ahead of the game, Mourinho revealed that Tuchel had an easy job in France, and will find things different in the Premier League.
Tuchel responded, thus: “You cannot compare. I absolutely agree. It is totally different. It’s a totally different culture. It’s a different attitude. It’s a different way to play,” Tuchel told reporters. “I want to point this out very clearly: for me there is no better and no worse – it’s [just] very, very different.
“Jose’s right, it is a big difference. It’s not a matter of what is better or what is worse it’s just if it fits and right now this fits perfectly for me. I feel absolutely comfortable.”
Tuchel has never faced Mourinho in his managerial career, and is looking forward to field his tactics against the experienced Portuguese manager.
