From being a record signing for a goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga went into being a second choice goalkeeper, which has since slashed his reputation and transfer value.
However, new Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel seems to have put a smile back on Kepa’s face, as he featured the Spaniard for consecutive games against Barnsley and Newcastle, with Kepa keeping a clean sheet in both games.
At the final whistle against Newcastle, Chelsea players went over to congratulate Kepa, as they seemed happy for him to be back in goal.
Olivier Giroud who was a scorer on the night for Chelsea, also sympathised with the Spaniard, and revealed that he was pleased to see him back in goal.
“I’m happy for him,” Giroud said of Kepa. “He’s stayed focused on his job and committed to what he has to do.
“Every day at training he is working hard to be ready when the manager will ask him to play and he played very well I think, like the team.”
