Following Chelsea’s 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday night, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has revealed the instruction Chelsea striker Timo Werner failed to carry out against Tottenham Hotspur.

Tuchel has joked he told Werner to score against Tottenham Hotspur.

Although Werner failed to score for the 13th Premier League match in a row, he did manage to win the decisive penalty from which Jorginho netted the game’s only goal.

During the break in play before the spot-kick, Tuchel called Werner over to the sidelines and gave him some instructions.

Asked what he said to Werner, Tuchel smiled and told Astro SuperSport as per Metro: “To score the second one and he didn’t listen! [laughs]

“No, no, we had some tactical advice regarding his position. He was even moving too much, we wanted him to stay a little bit longer on his position.

“Then we could find him in a more open position in the last line.

“That was just a quick tactical chat to give him some instructions.”
