Mason Mount and Kai Havertz are battling each other for the number 10 role at the club, and it seems the Englishman is ahead of the German at the moment.
It will surprise you to note that the rivalry between the two didn’t just start now. Mount and Havertz have faced each other while as teenagers playing for their respective countries.
Interestingly, it was Mount who scored a stunning goal and beat Kai Havertz in the process.
The Chelsea midfielder has shared the video of the incident as he took a playful dig at Kai Havertz.
“This was [for England U16s] I think (it was actually U17s), [our] first game on TV,” he told England’s official YouTube channel.
“Playing against Germany at Rotherham Stadium, so it was a massive for us.
“I can’t remember the final score but I did score a goal in the game that’s why I remember.
“Actually, Kai Havertz, my teammate at the moment, is actually in the video — not many people know this.
“He is the one that actually grabbed my face, he’s number 18.
“I’ve spoken to him about it at training and we had a good laugh about it — and he actually remembered it as well.
“That was funny. Now he’s going to get exposed, everyone is going to know [laugh].”
