Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi has been warned one or two good games for the Blues means nothing following his substitution against Southampton after only coming in at half-time.

“It’s not going to help your confidence, but at least now you get an explanation. Normally, you don’t get an explanation,” Melchiot told Stadium Astro.

“I don’t like it, I would prefer him to say it to me personally in a room or have a private conversation.

“Now he knows he’s been playing all the time, but he knows where he stands. It means one or two good games doesn’t mean anything.”
