
Chelsea beat Barnsley 1-0 to progress to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup but the Championship side were the better team for much of the match.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel gave several players a chance to impress and would have been disappointed with what he saw.
Hakim Ziyech has failed to make an appearance for the Blues since Tuchel’s first game in charge of the Blues against Wolves and the Moroccan international was given a chance against Barnsley.
However, Ziyech failed to impress and only justified Tuchel’s decision not to start him since the game against Wolves.
His first touch let him down too many times against Barnsley, easily gifting the possession to the opposition. He was replaced by Timo Anjorin.
Another Chelsea player that failed to impress is Christian Pulisic. The American international failed to impose himself against the Championship side.
The game against Barnsley was definitely Marcos Alonso’s worst game for Chelsea since Tuchel took charge of the Blues. He was taken off at half-time.
