Antonio Rudiger and Cesar Azpilicueta were reported to have fallen out many times under Frank Lampard’s reign.

There were reports of dressing room unrest under Lampard’s regime, with Rudiger said to have fallen out with the Chelsea skipper multiple times on the training ground.

Following the sacking of Frank Lampard, Tammy Abraham defended the German international and disclosed that there have been no issues between the duo, with Azpilicueta sharing a picture of himself and Rudiger, to further thrash out the rumours.

Rudiger has now spoken of the incident and claims that it’s untrue, while also thanking Tammy Abraham for sticking out for him.

He told The Athletic: “There has never been any problem with Azpi. He’s my captain and I’m very thankful that he and also Tammy [Abraham] reacted that quickly after they’d heard the rumours on social media.

“It looked like people from outside wanted to bother our unity in the squad. Hopefully, this negativity will go away again very soon and we can continue performances like in the Burnley game.”
