Following Chelsea’s goalless draw against Manchester United on Sunday, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has rated the performance of the Blues against Manchester United.

Tuchel said: “I thought it was a high level game between two very good teams. They tried to press us very, very high. We had some easy ball losses in the early moments.

“But we did not allow chances, we defended very, very well and had to suffer in some minutes of the game. In the second-half we chose a different structure to be more aggressive, pushing further up the pitch, in higher pressing.

“I liked the second-half a lot, I thought it was a top performance in a full-intensity game. And it was very encouraging, the defending against players from wide positions, and against Bruno Fernandes.

“I had the feeling we deserved to win, but on this level, the details decide. Maybe there are not a lot of chances, and we needed luck which we also didn’t have.

“It was a strong second half performance, good energy, lot of courage, very aggressive and good performance in the second half.”
