Despite only recently replacing Frank Lampard as Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel is already preparing for the summer.
According to The Guardian via The Sun, Tuchel wants Chelsea to make a counter-offer to hijack Real Madrid’s bid for David Alaba.
Alaba, 28, is set to leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season as a free agent after failing to reach an agreement with the German club over a new deal.
Chelsea are one of several teams said to be interested in the 28-year-old, along with Madrid, Liverpool, and Manchester United.
Chelsea could be late for Alaba as reports in Spain claim the 28 year old defender has already agreed a four-year deal worth £185,000-a-week with Real Madrid.
