Thiago Silva has started all three of Thomas Tuchel’s games in charge of Chelsea, but the veteran defender suffered a thigh injury in the first half against Tottenham.
The Brazilian defender stretched to clear a ball in his own half, but could not continue afterwards.
The 36-year-old was having a good game before getting off injured, with Andreas Christensen coming on for him.
Thiago Silva is set to miss Chelsea’s next game against Sheffield United, and Blues boss Thomas Tuchel couldn’t ascertain the extent of his injury at full time.
“I saw Thiago with a big strap around his muscle but we have to wait,” Tuchel told BBC Sport. “It’s worrying because it’s a muscle injury.”
He also said: “It will be tight for Sunday but we will have to wait until tomorrow to confirm. For Sunday, he is a big doubt.”
