Kai Havertz started Thomas Tuchel’s first game in charge of Chelsea, in the goalless draw against Wolves, as Mason Mount was a sub in that encounter.

The summer signing seemed revived under Tuchel’s watch, with the Blues boss admitting that Havertz will be an important player for him at Chelsea.

Havertz came on as a substitute in the 2-0 win against Burnley, and that was the last time he has featured for the club.

Many fans have pondered the reason for Havertz absence, as the £70m man doesn’t even make the bench anymore.

Kai Havertz has been struggling with a minor injury that he suffered in training last week, is the reason for his absence, and he’s set to return to the first-team soon.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel will definitely have one eye on next week’s crucial Champions League tie against Atletico Madrid, after facing Southampton this weekend.

Meanwhile, Bayern boss Hansi Flick has hailed the quality of the Chelsea team and believes that they can go far in the Champions League.

“Chelsea have massive potential in terms of quality and quantity,” said Flick, in an interview with France Football. “It’s a young team with a lot of talent.

“They can go far in the Champions League this season. Thomas has gained experience at PSG that will benefit him at Chelsea.

“He is ready for this challenge.”
