Atletico Madrid signed Luis Suarez last summer, and the Uruguayan international has proven to be a great signing for Diego Simeone’s side.
Suarez has proven to be a top striker in every club he has played for, right from his days at Ajax to Liverpool, Barcelona and now Atletico.
Now 34, Suarez is still a world-class striker and has banged in 16 goals in 20 league games for Atletico.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel was interested in signing Suarez when he was in charge of PSG, but the Uruguayan decided to remain in Spain and thus sign for Atletico.
Tuchel has now ruled out a possible move for Suarez now that he’s in charge of Chelsea.
Asked if he would consider signing Suarez this summer, Tuchel replied: “I don’t know.
“That was down to a particular moment and he maybe would’ve been a fit to our squad in Paris. Now things are different.
“He is under contract now at Atletico Madrid and it’s not worth thinking about it, honestly. I haven’t and the possibility is high we won’t think about it.”
