Chelsea women hit 6 past Bristol City in the Women’s Continental League Cup final to become champions of the Cup.
A hat-trick for Sam Kerr and two for Fran Kirby and a goal from Guro Reiten, with Kirby having a hand in all goals, was enough for Chelsea to be victorious on the night at the Vicarage Road.
It took just 87 seconds for Chelsea to start the massacre, with Kirby providing for Kerr twice in 10 minutes. Kerr would roll out her trademark cartwheel and backflip for the first time in a Chelsea shirt.
Kerr then doubled our advantage minutes later before Kirby put the Blues 3-0 up just before the half hour mark with a sublime finish to lob Bristol City’s goalkeeper Sophie Baggaley.
Kirby then got her second of the afternoon as she linked up well with Kerr before slotting past Baggaley to give the Blues a 4-0 lead going into the break.
Three minutes into the second half, Kerr scored her hat-trick with Kirby the provider yet again to make it five for Chelsea. Kirby would turn provider again, but this time for Reiten who scored our sixth and final goal of the game.
