Liverpool have a trio of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino that have troubled the Premier League for many years now.
For the Blues, Chelsea managers (past and present) are yet to get the best attacking combination.
For the game against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel fielded the trio of Hakim Ziyech, Kai Havertz and Timo Werner. The trio had a good understanding on the pitch, with Werner giving a fine assist to Hakim Ziyech for the first goal, with the move starting from Kai Havertz.
Ziyech would later play a fine pass for Werner, but Jan Oblak made a good save.
Speaking after the game, Ziyech revealed that Kai Havertz and himself understand Werner’s game.
Ziyech said: “Kai and me, we know Timo’s game and try to use him in the space because we know he is really fast, and we did it well in this game.
“There were some difficult moments in the game but most of the time we had it under control. It was a little bit like seeing how the game would go in the first 10 minutes and then after 10 minutes we had the control and played our game and we did well.’
“It is a big win, an important win, and I think at this moment everybody in the world who supports Chelsea is happy.”
