Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount has taken his fine club form to the country, and scored the second goal in England’s 2-0 victory over Albania.

England boss Gareth Southgate was full of praise for Mount and hailed him as ‘an exceptional player’ following his fourth international goal on Sunday evening.

Southgate mentioned four things that make Mount a special player.

“He finds space intelligently, he manipulates the ball very well, he creates chances and he can score goals,” said the England manager.

“I thought his performance was excellent.”

Meanwhile, Southgate had also revealed that Mount can play multiple positions as a No. 4, a No. 8 and a No. 10.

“They did very well in the game we played against Iceland,” said Southgate at his pre-match press conference before England’s 2-0 victory over Albania.

“Obviously that deeper position, Mason doesn’t play for his club but I think it’s possible for him. He’s a very intelligent player, he can play four, eight or 10. I think he would be able to adjust as required.”
