Andreas Christensen has been a mainstay in the Chelsea defence since the injury to veteran defender Thiago Silva.

The Brazilian has been out injured for over a month now, but his absence hasn’t been felt, due to the brilliant and assured display from Christensen.

The Danish defender has played 90 minutes in six of the following seven Premier League games since Thiago Silva’s injury, and Chelsea’s defence is yet to concede a goal with him on the pitch.

In ten hours of football for the Blues, Chelsea are yet to concede a goal with Christensen on the pitch, but he will miss out in the crucial second leg clash against Atletico Madrid tonight due to illness.

The 24-year-old got ill overnight, but his illness is not thought to be Covid related and he has been left out of the squad entirely for the visit of Atletico Madrid to Stamford Bridge.

Kurt Zouma has come in for Christensen, and we hope to have a solid defence in this tie.

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
