Many of Chelsea players will be heading away on international duty with their countries for the next ten days or so but Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy will not be joining up with Senegal.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel revealed after Chelsea’s 2-0 FA Cup victory over Sheffield United on Sunday that Mendy won’t be on international duty because he needs an operation on his tooth.
Could there be another reason why Mendy didn’t report for international duty with Senegal?
Senegal play AFCON qualifiers against Congo and Eswatini and according to Football London, Eswatini is currently on the UK’s “red list”, which means Mendy would have had to quarantine in a hotel for ten days upon arrival.
Could this be the real reason why Mendy isn’t on international duty with Senegal?
