Chelsea played out a goalless draw against Leeds United at the Elland Road on Saturday afternoon.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel handed starts to Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic, and it was the first time that the American star was given a Premier League start under Thomas Tuchel.

Pulisic has struggled for form under Thomas Tuchel, and Hakim Ziyech has as well been struggling.

Former England international Karen Carney has admitted that a lack of confidence could be the issue for the duo.

Carney, who played as a winger for the Blues women team, told Premier League predictions: “It’s going to be difficult. Ziyech is at his best when he’s on the right-hand side and cutting in to his left foot.

“They are two players who haven’t featured that much, the manager has gone ‘right, you’re starting, here’s your opportunity’. For me, they didn’t take it.

“I thought Pulisic was the better out of the two but they’re both lacking confidence. Pulisic has been linked [with a transfer] this week which doesn’t help at times.

“They didn’t take their chance. I know it’s against a very difficult Leeds side but they didn’t do enough and I do think they will struggle, I really do.

“I don’t think Ziyech has felt settled, he’s had injuries as well. He looked hesitant, he didn’t look himself, he just doesn’t look right.

“Does he know something else or has the manager told him he’s down the pecking order? I think one of them could go.”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
