Manchester United legend Gary Neville believes Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham has what it takes to fight Chelsea for the fourth position in the Premier League.
Chelsea currently occupy 4th place in the league and are 3 points ahead of Spurs who are in 6th place.
With 8 games left until the end of the season, the fight for top four will indeed be an intense one, and Gary Neville has warned that Tottenham have the squad to pull off a final push for top four.
“It was absolutely crucial. I think it determines the last couple of months of the season, I think it was that big a game today for Spurs,” he said on his podcast.
“Going into that sixth-place, a point behind West Ham, three behind Chelsea, gives Jose Mourinho the feeling that he might still do something really good in the league this season.
“If they hadn’t have won here tonight, then they’d have obviously been too far away. Just looking at the bench there, with Joe Hart, Bale, Sissoko, Dier, Dele Alli, Bergwijn, Ben Davies.”
Speaking about the strength and experience Tottenham have, Neville added: “I know Jose Mourinho mentioned two 16-year-olds before the game, but the amount of experience, quality and depth, and that’s without other players who aren’t even in the squad.
“They should be challenging for fourth-place, they really should. I think that Chelsea will feel a little bit of heat if Spurs get near them and I think they’ve got the type of players that could finish the season really well.
“I did like Vinicius and Kane tonight, I think those two played well together, I wasn’t sure if they would.”
