The year 2021 hasn’t started well for Liverpool, as their decline in form has seem them drop from top of the league in 2020 as at December, to 7th position in the league following their defeat to Chelsea at Anfield.
Interestingly, Jurgen Klopp’s side could drop to 9th place, as Tottenham and Aston Villa both have a game in hand, and could overtake Liverpool with a victory.
Chelsea have heaped more misery on Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp with the 1-0 win at Anfield.
Interestingly, following the defeat, Liverpool have scored just one goal from open play in the Premier League in 2021 – a very terrible feat for the champions. But it doesn’t end there.
The defeat also ensured Liverpool’s fifth consecutive defeat at home, which is their worst run at Anfield in the club’s entire history. It still doesn’t end there.
The loss to Chelsea is also the first time a reigning English top-flight champion has lost five league games at home in a row. Could it get worse?
The bad record keep going on and on for Liverpool, but for Chelsea, the Blues fans will be pleased as the club is on the ascendancy.
