Chelsea defender Marc Guehi has been very impressive on loan at Swansea.

The 20-year-old has now made 50 appearances under Steve Cooper in the Championship club, and his influence has grown in the course of the season.

Guehi who came through the ranks at Chelsea, was given a call-up by the Young Lions as they prepare for the upcoming European Under-21 Championship.

Guehi is pleased with how far he has come both in the youth setup and also playing men’s football with Swansea, and has vowed to improve more.

“It’s been massive,” Guehi said. “From the first day when I was here at Under-16s, for them to show that trust in me and a belief in my skills and development as a player.

“I take real confidence from every call-up and then go back to my club and try and improve after each time that I’m here.”

He added: “Playing men’s football is every kid’s dream after playing in the youth teams for so long. You just want to get out there and learn.

“That was the aim for me to be a sponge for knowledge. Especially this season that has come to fruition.”
