Chelsea did well to beat Liverpool 1-0 at Anfield on Thursday night, and it was a well-deserved victory for the Blues.

There were a number of top performers on the night for Chelsea, as Thomas Tuchel’s side went home with the three points.

In our official player ratings, N’Golo Kante, Mason Mount and Andreas Christensen got 9/10 ratings and were contenders for the man of the match.

Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen was named as the official man of the match, while former Blues midfielder Cesc Fabregas gave it to N’Golo Kante.

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher however believes Christensen was the man of the match.

“It was not so much defending really [for Chelsea], it was more Christensen,” the former Liverpool centre-back told Sky Sports after the game.

“I felt he was taking the ball, playing out from the back and being really brave against one of the best pressing teams in the Premier League and Europe.

“I think he was really brave in taking those responsibilities.

“Every time Liverpool attacked or put a cross, I felt he got his head at the end of it.

“There were a couple of times he was in a race with [Sadio] Mane and came out on top.”
