Anfield had pretended to be a fortress as Liverpool went a long time without tasting a home Premier League defeat.

Liverpool remained unbeaten at home for three full Premier League seasons in 2017/18, 2018/19 and 2019/20, but the year 2021 hasn’t been kind to Jurgen Klopp and his men.

On January 21, Liverpool were beaten at Anfield by Burnley to put a surprise end to their home run. Since then, everyone had gone on to defy them at home, including Chelsea.

Liverpool have now lost 6 home games in a row as Anfield has become open to everyone, even if you are a relegation battler.

However, it will surprise you to know that between the 04/05 season and the 10/11 season, Chelsea only lost 5 home games. Jurgen Klopp’s side have smashed their home record in six consecutive home games — a feat that happened at Chelsea, within 6 years.

With Liverpool now clear of Chelsea’s back in the race for top four, Thomas Tuchel will have an eyes on Everton this evening, as the Blues prepare to ward off another top four contender.

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
