Atletico Madrid forward Yannick Carrasco went down in the penalty box after a slight touch from Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta, but the referee waved away the incident.

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand was hundred percent certain that it was a penalty and he slammed VAR for not reviewing the incident.

“This is why VAR has become such a farce,” Rio Ferdinand said on BT Sport.

“Because decisions like that make you think ‘oh my god how has that not been looked at’ from the referee.

“Once he sees that he 100% gives a penalty.”

Meanwhile, Hakim Ziyech scored eight minutes after the penalty incident, and Emerson Palmieri scored the second goal late in stoppage time.

Chelsea are now through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League, and it’s something fans of the club haven’t experienced in 7 years.

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
