Despite his impressive stats, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel still highlighted the parts of his game that needs improvement, and also mentioned what he loved from his display.
“We missed today Mason Mount and Jorgiho in midfield, so Kovacic and N’Golo had to step up,” said Tuchel.
“For the double six we used Hakim to replace Mason because on terms of workload, to have a bit more higher position for Kai.
“The guys did fantastic, they never stopped working. For N’Golo it’s normal, we could’ve even scored more in the end, we could’ve been more efficient in counter attacks, but it’s a pleasure to have the guys on the pitch.
“There was a good interaction [between the front three], we had enough speed. There were some easy ball losses from Hakim in the opponent’s half where he needs to improve, that his game gets a bit clearer and a bit more structured.
“That it’s also easier for the guys around him to feel what he’s doing, that he’s not a surprise. ‘He can still adapt big it was a big step forward for him.
“Like I said, it was the choice to replace the workload from Mason with the workload from Hakim because this is something we can always rely on that he gives everything. He gives a huge physical input in games. I’m happy he was fast enough to follow the counter attack and finish it.”
