Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic is happy to be afforded the chance to leave Chelsea for the internationals.

The 22-year-old has had a tough season so far, with injuries and a change of manager curtailing his playing time.

The American star has admitted that his situation at Chelsea hasn’t been an easy one, but he believes he’d be able to overcome the challenge.

However, he also admitted that he’s pleased to join up his country mates and play for the United States, where he has no pressure to excel.

“It hasn’t been the easiest thing,” Pulisic admitted of his recent club difficulties. “Obviously, I’m a guy who always wants to play, but I think I’m on a really good path.

“I love to take on challenges. I love to, not prove people wrong, but prove myself right in a way. So I’ll just continue to work hard.

“Coming into camp, I’m really just excited to get more minutes and play for my country. Regardless of what’s happening at the club level, I’m just thrilled to be here and I’m excited to represent this crest again.”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
