Atletico Madrid defender Stefan Savic was sent off late in the game against Chelsea, after an altercation with Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger during a Chelsea corner kick.

VAR reviewed the incident and confirmed that the Atletico defender planted an elbow into the midriff of the Chelsea centre-back.

Rudiger reacted to the incident by falling to the ground and holding his belly in pains, but Rio Ferdinand didn’t fall for it.

According to the BT Sport pundit and former Manchester United defender, Rudiger should feel embarrassed to have gone down in such a manner.

“Rudiger, I think will be embarrassed at the way he’s gone down,” Ferdinand said.

“But on the other hand he might say, I’ve got him sent off and we’ve won the game, we’ve seen it out.

“But he’s [Savic] experienced enough to know you’re not going to get away with that in today’s game.”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
