Scoring against Chelsea these days have become a very arduous task, as Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea have a strong defence that rarely gives away opportunity.
Chelsea have only conceded two goals in 11 games since the German took charge, and the Blues have kept 7 clean sheets in 9 Premier League games so far.
Against Everton, Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy only faced one shot on target, as he kept yet another clean sheet.
The victory against the Toffees ensured Chelsea’s fourth clean sheet in a row and fifth at home under Tuchel.
Tuchel has heaped a collective team effort as the reason for the good defence.
He said after the win against Everton: “We defended with a big effort and a big intensity. Defending is a team effort and is about helping each other.
“We did that and we deserved our clean sheet so it’s very pleasing. Of course, I’m happy for the goalkeeper and the defenders when we keep a clean sheet, but also for the whole team because every guy puts defensive effort in.”
