Chelsea defender Thiago Silva lived the moment with the Chelsea players despite not being on the pitch for the game against Atletico Madrid.

The Blues got a 2-0 victory over the Spanish side, with Emerson scoring a late goal to seal a 2-0 victory that sealed Chelsea’s passage into the quarter-final of the Champions League.

Thiago Silva was practically a coach in this game, as he stood in the stands, shouting at his teammates and was an animated figure all through the game.

With Hakim Ziyech having put Chelsea ahead in the first half, a late Emerson goal sealed Chelsea’s progress, and Thiago Silva went wild in celebration when the goal went in, as he rushed up the Stamford Bridge steps to hug team-mates Mason Mount and Jorginho – who missed the match through suspension, and were also watching from the stands.

Having reached the Champions League final last season with PSG but failed at the last hurdle against Bayern Munich, Thiago Silva will be hoping to achieve success with Chelsea this time around.
