At just 21, Joao Felix is already a star in the Atletico Madrid team, and Atletico boss Diego Simeone is keen to play him against Chelsea.
Felix has struggled to shine since the start of the year, and was subbed off in the first leg against Chelsea.
Felix netted against Villarreal in the recent league win but that was just his second goal in his last 17 appearances.
Joao Felix had only just returned from injury for the first leg in Bucharest, but is now fully fit to face Chelsea, and Simeone has revealed that the young Portuguese star will start at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.
Simeone said in his press conference: “Joao, as we have always mentioned, is a really important player.
“Joao is going to play from the beginning. He has had a really high-quality start to the season. He is the talk of our team and we need this player.
“All footballers have different stages throughout their professional career, especially when they are young, where they dip.
“But as you heard from him there is nothing more needed from his personality.
“Ahead of the Champions League and LaLiga matches, we have to ensure that as a 21-year-old that he has that will that he needs to have to reach the point where he needs to be.”
Chelsea defeated Atletico Madrid 1-0 in the first leg, and will need a draw to seal a place in the quarter-finals — a feat Chelsea haven’t achieved since the semifinal exit in 2014.
