Chelsea defeated Atletico 1-0 away from home in Bucharest, and the Blues play host to the Spanish La Liga leaders at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.

A draw for Chelsea will be enough to secure passage to the quarter-finals of the Champions League, as Thomas Tuchel’s side hold the advantage heading to the next round.

Speaking in the BT Sport studio on Tuesday night, pundits Rio Ferdinand and Owen Hargreaves gave their predictions for the encounter, and they both backed Chelsea to seal qualification.

“I think under Tuchel, there’s a stiffness,” Ferdinand said about the Blues. “They’re stingy with giving away goals and I think they have got a good chance.

“I think Chelsea go through.”

Hargreaves then hailed the experience of the German boss, as he believes Tuchel has the requisite experience to help see Chelsea through.

“He got that Paris Saint-Germain team to the final. Pep spoke about the experience, you see with Real Madrid, that experience at this level is essential,” Hargreaves said.

“Tuchel has got it. I just think Chelsea are the form team right now.”
