Mason Mount, Callum Hudson-Odoi and N’Golo Kante all had injury scare while on international duty, with Hudson-Odoi and Kante having to return back to the club before time.
Tammy Abraham Jorginho and Thiago Silva, have all been injured before the international break as well. However, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is pleased to confirm that he can call on all his players except Kante, who’s still not fully fit following his slight hamstring challenge he sustained while away with France.
“Everyone was training today and we had a good, high quality session,” Tuchel said while addressing the media in his pre-match press conference.
“Apart from N’Golo Kante, he wasn’t with the squad and he did some individual work.”
Tuchel then added that he’s hopeful Kante will be ready to face Porto in the Champions League clash next week.
Tuchel went on: “With N’Golo, we will have to be patient. Will he miss the Porto game? Yes, probably. He is doing individual training and tomorrow’s game comes too soon for him and so he can’t be with the squad.
“After tomorrow’s game, we have just three days to prepare [for Porto]. He has a muscle injury, as we communicated with the national team, so my realistic approach is to think further ahead about Porto, maybe the second game against Porto he could be available for.”
