According to The Sun, a British Super League is being planned as part of the fall-out from the failed Euro Super League breakaway plot.

The Premier League ‘big six’ – Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City – are reportedly still convinced that the reform of the Premier League is essential.

The British Super League will see Scottish giants Celtic and Rangers join the Premier League and it is believed their inclusion will see a spike in interest from fans across the world, sponsors and broadcasters.

Unlike the European Super League that was condemned globally, the British Super League is expected to be backed by FIFA, UEFA and the UK government.

The report also claims other Scottish clubs aren’t bothered about Rangers and Celtic joining the Premier League as would give them a realistic chance of winning the title and the chance to qualify for the revamped Champions League.

One club source told The Sun: “Whether or not the Super League was going to happen, we all feel that the Premier League has to be changed and improved.

“It is time we opened it up to Rangers and Celtic. That would make sense for everyone.”
