Chelsea were the better side at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium on Tuesday night as the Blues played out a 1-1 draw with Real Madrid away in Spain.
Madrid were lucky to hold Chelsea down to a draw, as Chelsea dominated most period of the game.
Former Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas who knows N’Golo Kante too well during his time at the club, reserved special praise for the World Cup winner. Fabregas hailed him as a big game player, and named him as man of the match against the La Liga giants.
“N’golo has always been a big game player,” Fabregas tweeted.
“Never doubt him. He plays for 2.”
The former Blues star added: “A close game in Madrid means we’re set up nicely for next week’s 2nd leg at the Bridge!”
Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel praised N’Golo Kante for his performance against Real Madrid but claims the Frenchman could’ve been more decisive in the final third.
Tuchel told Chelsea TV after the game: “Yeah top performance. Unfortunately he also lacked a little bit the last pass.
“He could have been even decisive in front of the goal, he was driving at the back of the midfield from Real. But a very, very strong performance.”
