Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has been a beast under Thomas Tuchel. The German who had seemingly lost his place under Frank Lampard, has since been reinstalled in the Chelsea team under the new manager.
Playing mostly at the left side of the back three, Rudiger has come up against a host of quality opponents who try to penetrate through the right side, but none have gotten the better of the German centre-back.
The likes of Luis Suarez and Mohamed Salah, have all been kept quiet against Rudiger, and the German has been waxing stronger with each game.
In his analysis ahead of facing Porto, former Chelsea winger Pat Nevin, has hailed Rudiger as a killer and destroyer.
The former Blues winger said: “Toni (Rudiger) is decent on the ball, he’s not the best I’ve ever seen.
“But as a marker, as a killer, as a destroyer of attackers, I don’t think there’s many better in world football than him. He is an absolute brilliant man to man defender.”
