Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel deployed a similar line-up to his team from the 1-0 win against West Ham for the Champions League clash against Real Madrid.

One major absentee in the starting team against Real Madrid was Reece James. Tuchel named Cesar Azpilicueta in the right wing-back position, while James started on the bench.

Azpilicueta has mostly impressed while starting out at the right side of the back three, but Tuchel deployed Andreas Christensen in that position and Azpilicueta as a wing-back.

Prior to kick off, Chelsea fans were surprised that Reece James was dropped for this game, with a slow Azpilicueta starting in his stead.

Many Blues fans were worried to see Azpilicueta go up against Vinicius Jr and Marcelo.

At the end, Azpilicueta did okay and was barely exposed, while Reece James also impressed after coming on as a substitute.
