According to The Guardian, Chelsea are set to withdraw from the European Super League after fans protested outside of Stamford Bridge on Tuesday.

Although Chelsea still have issues with Uefa’s governance of European football, the club have decided that taking part in the European Super League is not the right thing to do.

The club also decided to withdraw from the European Super League after several players told club chairman Bruce Buck that they would not countenance a future in which they were barred from playing at World Cups, European Championships and other major tournaments.

The players were also frustrated to receive no warning about the scheme from the club.
